1.0x is the belief that between every breath, life happens.

pace @ 1.0x

1.0x is an experience that refuses to keep up with any unnecessary pressure of going fast or chasing deadlines. It doesn't slow time down for us—just brings us to the pace we're meant for. With 1.0x, we live moment by moment until every moment becomes life-size and life itself dissolves into the moment.

simplicity @ 1.0x

The experience of 1.0x is not life-changing. In fact, it is about the little, simple, and ordinary things. We live the most mundane moments together. If it does anything at all, the simplicity stirs something so deep within you that you're forced to look inward. It just helps you see you're in deep shit. Nothing extraordinary about it.

About 1.0x

1.0x is a state of mind that doesn't demand you to be a big shot.

oneness @ 1.0x

1.0x is a community made of humans who are ready to realize and accept how fickle life really is. It carries collective kindness that tears our ego apart and opens us to the extent where we finally start to see all of us as one, and every breath as ours. And, in choosing the gentleness of love, we become something bigger than ourselves.

reality @ 1.0x

You bring all of yourself to 1.0x. The love and the pain, the fear and the joy, the smiles and the tears. You scream in anger and gawk at life in complete silence. This is not a happy space—it is a real space, where you don't lie, especially not to yourself. You listen to your soul and body, and you start walking towards your real self.

In December 2019, Drishti Nagdeo, a poet and then a journalism student at the University of Delhi, launched a passion project while studying for her semester exams, in her bedroom, the size of two and a half yoga mats. Going through her class notes on global media politics, she felt an urge to go on this mission to celebrate humans and human life, and poetry was the only form of celebration she knew.

She called the project Pink Poems. Her process involves talking to a person for a week, curating conversational experiences for them in the form of hour-long sessions, and then using those talks to turn the person into poetry. It's not a poem written for or on the person—rather, the person becomes the poem.

Drishti fondly recalls being glued to the TV in the evenings during seventh grade, watching travel presenters on National Geographic and TravelXP take their audience across India and the world. From that point, she knew that she didn't want her travels to feel like a vacation, she wanted to travel full-time, for both work and life. What Pink Poems helped her achieve then was almost magical—the human stories she experienced started feeling like the kind of 'real' travel she had always dreamt of, all while living in her mattress-sized rented room. She couldn't believe that something born out of the stress of an examination soaked her in the feeling of being larger than life—like she was finally doing something she was here for.

Her journey at her full-time, fast-paced job in advertising was super cool but the urgency culture wasn't. Drishti knew that the rush and the race weren't for her. The job also blessed her with the clarity that playing for the 'name and fame' wasn't her game. She then lived and worked in the beautiful mountain village of Jibhi. Today, she travels full-time to perform poetry and curate experiences at 1.0x, while helping brands and individuals tell stories through marketing.

In the last five years, Drishti has experienced more than 100 Indian villages, lived in one of them for a year, curated art festivals and mindfulness residencies, volunteered inside a forest in Auroville, stared in the face of death thrice, turned 2-hour drives into 7-day road trips to the remotest Himalayan villages, cried about 673 times while looking at the skyline, and met countless people who immersed her in human divinity.

About the founder

If you ever choose to look past the madness of life and join any experience at 1.0x, know that you're doing something that most of us have not been able to do—you're loving yourself through and through. All of us deal with endless complications but life is beautiful nevertheless and 1.0x is a way to celebrate it. Not by losing ourselves to alcohol, but by opening up to the journey within. It's about coming out of numbness, together as a community, while living a simple life rooted in nature and expression. To feel more human, and less like a machine on autopilot. And, sure, when it gets too real, a gin and tonic ain't hurting anybody.
